Snowboarding/German/Cabin weekend
This week, Ursula told me that she was going to a cabin for the weekend with some friends. I said pencil me in. Well, after we had a place, then didn't have a place, then had a place again, we ended up in a cabin near a mountain -- two, actually (Furedalen and Aikedalen). And unbeknownst to me before the day we left, this was goin to be a snowboarding or skiing trip -- right on. I've just started, but I totally dig it. We got there Saturday, and went to Furedalen that night. It was only my second time going, mind you, so I still absolutely sucked (still do, in fact). But they didn't have a chair lift, which I didn't think would be a problem, but it was. I couldn't do it. I tried and tried again, and never got it. A Norwegian guy even came up to me and called me a bad person (in Norwegian) for being a "grown man and not even being able to stand on skis" -- yeah, um, ok. Take it easy there, buddy. I wasn't born with skis on my feet, like you(and it was a snowboard, but whatever). But I eventually went with somebody else and that went fine. It was a night ski and there were lights on the mountain and on my last time down it was pretty much just me, and it was really stinking sweet.
We went home, had a few beers, and had a merry old night. Unfortunately for me, I was the only native English speaker(although all could speak it) who stayed up late and so I was there when all these Germans and Austrians were laughing heartily and having fun. I was having fun, too, just a different kind of fun. Once in a while someone spoke to me in engelsk, but it was a frenzy of German for the most part. I told a couple jokes, too, but yeah, lots of German/Austrian. Oh, and there were about 25 of us, plus a family that was also in the cabin at the time.
Next day we went to Aikedalen, a mountain down the road a bit. Conditions sucked, and I don't think I really improved much, if any. The mountain was pure ice, and that made for now such favorable rides down the mountain. I crashed with some other girl on her snowboard once, but it honestly was just as much her fault as it was mine. But it was ok.
Didn't take pics until the last hour of the trip, and they stunk. More than anything, just wanted to relay this trip I had with you all. So here's a few pics, and yeah, here ya go.

HA DET!!!

p.s. I wore the exact same clothes from the time I left Fantoft to the time I showered , didn't change em for sleep, nothin. Ha ha. Didn't even get into my bag except for my protein bars and tuna fish, . You know me -- gotta have my protein. And I surprisingly didn't stink too badly by the end (but I did stink a little-- heck, I'm not THAT miraculous). ADIOS
