When and where it all started....
It was walk down memory lane for me and hubby this weekend to the place and day I first 'said yes'

Took a train Saturday morning from London Kings Cross and reached Durham at about noon (we missed the barbecue organised by the Malaysians here, though).

Checked in at Three Tuns Hotel - a lovely Victorian style hotel. For the price we paid, (i.e. just 5quids more that you would pay for family room in Travelodge) I'm really impressed with the size of the room! Really spacious - a king size bed complete with a small living area.. and it comes with breakfast for two!

For the rest of Saturday, me and hubby tried as much to do the things we use to do before - namely, lunch at my favourite pancake shop, stroll around town, in the woods by the River Wear, lepak at the cathedral compound and dinner at Spice Lounge. We were lucky that there was a Folk Festival going on in the market place. So we spend time in the town centre for quite a bit watching the folk dance competition. And, to my pleasant surprise, we bumped into Ms Usha Kalyani in town! It was really nice to see her again! At night, we manage to catch the 830pm Wall-E show at Gala Durham .

On Sunday, it's meeting the Malaysian family day. Promised Kak Zue to have lunch at her place and also to visit Kak Wan and Aisyah (my previous boss's sister) later on. But Kak Zue and Kak Wan asked me whether I want to go to the carboot sale at Seaham before lunch, I apa lagi.. NAK LA!! Haven't been to any carboot since I came to the UK. In fact the last carboot was with Kak Wan two years ago! (was I that slim before?? )

Got ourselves some super cheap brand new DVDs and books. And our best find was definitely a brand new still-in-box (plastic wrapper/sticker still intact, catridge unopened) HP photo printer (we were already planning to get one) for only 15pounds!! (we later checked on Amazon and found out the printer retails for 165pounds!!) - and yes they are in perfect working condition!

Because the change of plan, we only had lunch close to 4pm. Lunch was a scrumptious spread of rice with gulai lemak ikan masin & nenas, kari ikan, omelette, laksa asam and doughnut tembam prepared by dearest Kak Zuraidah. Ate soo much, bertambah lagi.. And because of that too, tak sempat nak pergi rumah Aisyah. Regardless, Aisyah brought over some delicious curry puffs for me and hubby to have on our journey back. Sedap..

We rushed to the train station close to 7pm, with me being so confident our train back to London was at 730pm when in fact it was clearly stated on the ticket 1910!! Sib baik train delay and sempat. Reached home almost midnight (esoknya pergi kerja mengantuk je).

All in all, it was a nice weekend getaway for both me and hubby. I really loved being in Durham and don't mind going back again. Probably 25 July next year, hubby? *winks*

Thanks Kak Wan & Kak Zue for the makan2, for melayan and drive me and hubby to carboot and train station. Kalau datang London, bagi tau la yea?

The places we went...

The things we did..

The people we met..
