What is IVIS. It stands for Ichikawa Volunteer Interpreters’ Society
This society aims to do volunteer Interpreting, like helping foreigners who have language problems in Japanese, to understand the International situation and to promote cross-cultural communication. Their website http://www.iia21.jp/~iia0052/index_e.html
We got to know this society when we went to Ichikawa City Hall for Alien Card matter. We has been invited to join their annual trip.
This time IVIS bus trip destination were Chiba Prefactural Boso-no-Mura and Naritasan-Shinshoji Temple. Both destination located in Narita City in Chiba Prefacture.
Boso-no-Mura or Boso Village is a unique musuem that aims for visitors to learn about history through experiencing traditional lifestyle and craft making of the Boso area, as well as through exhibition of artifacts excavated from various parts of Chiba Prefacture.
Participants to this trip consit of IVIS members plus numbers of foreigner including us. They are from Sri Lanka, Bagladesh, USA, London, Germany, China and many mores.
