17h30 : waking up from my nap, it was time to go to the festival with my partner in crime Fanny…As I drove down to ther place, I witnessed the arrival of this massive swell. I knew from windguru that an unusual big swell was forecast that night, but I didn’t know how big it was going to be. It was impressive to see, but no one really expected it to get bigger than this. And it was already pretty big. My favourite surfspot turned into a cruel washing machine.....fascinating to watch.

20h30: The festival is going well, the entire street is closed down and we can wander around looking for food, drink, friends and concerts. People dancing in the streets, battucada and lots of music were the main ingredients of the nights. Looooove it!

00h00: things start to get dirty. I hear from a friend that some of her friends wanted to park along the beach and got stopped by a massive wave that came to the top of the beach. What?? The waves are cranking up. I walked up to my car to get it out of the rage of the waves. Thank God it was ok. I just got lots of dirt (sand anf leaves on it). Man, I couldn’t imagine how big the wave was! I was very curious to see how it looked like. The lagoon is not big but it is supposed to be here to act as a buffer zone. Car is ok, me too....Time to go home. I will see the waves tomorrow.
