i'm back from another trip probably the most worthiest that i ever had.. istanbul- a beautiful city that lives its history.. it's not that i'm the history-type of person but you could really see it here.. the people are friendly, the historical spots are all within reach by walking, the bazaar is really grand and the views are just spectacular, no words can describe
once known as constantinapole, sultan mehmet II the conquerer took over the place from christian byzantium in 1453.. the great church of haghia sophia was converted into a masjid by his order.. in 1609 sultan ahmet khan ordered the construction of another masjid directly facing haghia sophia to be called by his name- sultanahmet or also known as the blue mosque. this is also the mosque which inspired our own architect Dato Baharuddin upon the design of masjid shah alam. ook now, enough of history
another very good thing about turkey is, u dont havta worry about getting halal food here because most of them (if not all) are muslims.. pegi je restoran mana2, semua boleh ngap! and then there are hamams, the sufi's whirling dervishes (which i doubted), the sound of azan, apple tea in its 'biggest' glass.. oh damn, i never really could capture them all.. so here are what i've got.. enjoy!
